THE PHILEMON PROJECT has a vision to provide very poor Lebanese, migrant, and refugee children with the best possible early childhood development preschool program, seeking to significantly narrow race- and income-based achievement gaps. Additionally, they work with parent(s) in an adult mentoring program. Another goal of the Project is to, in the words of the church father Eusebius, in his work Preparatio Evangelica, “prepare the ground for the gospel.”
WORLD OUTREACH (WO) is the mission sending agency of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. WO's principal calling is to glorify God by starting disciple making movements among least-reaching people groups, especially among Muslims.
GLOBAL FRIENDS is a vibrant campus ministry welcoming, connecting, and serving internationals in Memphis by journeying together through faith and friendship.
OPERATION BROKEN SILENCE (OBS) is building a global Gospel movement to empower the Sudanese people through innovative programs.
LIVING WATERS FOR THE WORLD is the global mission resource of the Synod of Living Waters (Presbyterian Church USA). Through the work of LWW and its mission partners, children are being saved from certain illness and deadly complications that come from dirty water with a water purification system. Woodland began sending mission teams in 2007 to Taulabe, Honduras. There are currently 7 water systems in use that Woodland installed. We support the local sites through clean water education and resources for maintenance.
In 2017 Woodland began sending a Medical Missions team to work with the Salt and Light Clinic in Peña Blanca. Volunteers assist the local doctor with patient intake, supplying medications and providing health education through mobile clinics in rural areas. Our construction team serves to support local missions in Peña Blanca by helping with needed repairs and new construction projects.
ADVANCE MEMPHIS strives to reflect within South Memphis the hope of the coming Kingdom of God through transformational relationships and economic development.
KINGDOM COMMUNITY BUILDERS (KCB) is a religious non-profit, desiring to seek God’s kingdom “come on earth as it is in heaven”. Kingdom Community Builders or “KCB” seeks to conduct asset-based Community Development in the inner city of Memphis, and specifically in Orange Mound.
NEIGHBORHOOD CHRISTIAN CENTER The primary mission of the Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. (NCC) is to guide those in need toward stability and sustainability through compassionate, Christ-centered ministries and empowerment programs.
THE OLD PATH MINISTRIES: This Center for Women and Children in the Greater Memphis Area provides basic services such as emergency housing, food, clothing, counseling, job training, Christian and interpersonal education as well as financial counseling and love. Woodland donates financially, brings food, clothing and other items to the home as needed and offers an ANGEL TREE at Christmas to provide gifts for the children. “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. S.O.S. MEMPHIS: Woodland began partnering with S.O.S. Memphis in the summer of 2010. SOS is a non-profit organization that exists to glorify God by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed through urban home repair camps. Members assist S.O.S. volunteers and staff by serving food, delivering popsicles and joining the leaders for daily prayer.
WOODLAND PRESBYTERIAN SCHOOL is a pre-kindergarten through eighth grade Christian independent school located in the heart of east Memphis. The school serves approximately 375 students. With over fifty years of experience educating young children, Woodland is dedicated to continuing the time-honored, rich traditions which have created a loving, family-centered environment where all students have the opportunity to realize their full potential through academic challenges, spiritual enrichment with a Christ-centered foundation, and continuous growth in an increasingly diverse global society.
